CIVIL ENGINEERING

3 years  Master of Engineering(XAUAT)

Master of Engineering (Civil and Infrastructure) at UniSA

BACKGROUND

Civil engineering is about the science and technology that underpins construction. It refers to the production of a construction project, including various construction facilities underground, above ground, and in the water, as well as all the materials and equipment employed and the specialised technologies used to survey, design, construct, manage, monitor and maintain critical infrastructure.

Students can choose from various specialisations including Geotechnical Engineering and Underground Structure; Steel Structure and Earthquake Resistance; Steel-Concrete Composite and Hybrid Structures; Concrete Structure; Earthquake Resistance of Engineering Structure; Durability of Engineering Structures; System of New Materials and New Structures; Tall Building Structures; Seismic Isolation, Damping and Control of Engineering Structures; Earthquake Resistance and Wind Resistance of Bridges; Construction and Management of Civil Engineering; and Construction Project Management.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

This qualification will give students specialised knowledge in civil engineering, providing a strong foundation of theoretical concepts, an understanding of engineering in the international context, communication skills, and an overview of the latest research and developing trends. Students learn how to undertake innovative research and develop their engineering practices and graduates can pursue careers in research, teaching, design, technology management and other fields related to construction engineering.

ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE & ENGINEERING

3 years  Master of Engineering(XAUAT)

Master of Engineering (Water Resources Management) at UniSA

BACKGROUND

Environmental Science focuses on the patterns of environmental changes and looking into the impact of human activities on the natural ecosystems. Environmental Engineering aims to improve or preserve environmental quality through engineering, and the analysis of the pollutants.

An De College offers a number of specialisations including Water Damage Restoration and Water Quality Improvement; Sewage and Wastewater Treatment Theory and Technology; Wastewater Reclamation and Reuse Technology; Solid Waste Disposal Technology; Environmental Ecology and Ecological Restoration Theory and Technology; Air and Industrial Smoke and Gas Pollutant Control Theory; and Technology, Development and Application of New Technology and Material in Environmental Protection.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The qualification aims to develop professionals that will contribute to China becoming a global economic superpower by providing students with in-depth knowledge of environmental science and engineering, a broad view of the world, and great communication skills. Students will have the opportunity to undertake practical training, and improve their research methods, research skills and writing skills. The students will be elevated in various aspects of their studies, gain deeper knowledge of the field, advance their academic research skills as well as engineering and other scientific research skills.
