On the afternoon of September 25th, the opening ceremony of the 2018 freshmen of An De College was held in the Caotang Campus. The ceremony was attended by Vice Presidents of Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology, Niu Yitao and Wang Shusheng, the Provost & Chief Academic Officer at the University of South Australia, Allan Evans, Australian Education Management Group President, Li Xinqing, and other officials and staff from XAUAT, UniSA and AEMG. 262 undergraduate students of 2018 and 28 postgraduate students also attended the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was hosted by Xiong Zhongming, Executive Dean of An De College.
At the beginning of the conference, all participants stood up with the national anthem of the People's Republic of China and the Australian national anthem played.
Allan Evan first delivered a speech. He expressed his gratitude to Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology and the University of South Australia for their long-term cooperation and expressed their appreciation for the excellent engineering education provided by Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology. The two universities will further explore the cutting-edge sciences in engineering, environment and construction in China and Australia, and cultivate students' broader vision through sincere cooperation, and produce fruitful results on the basis of mutual cooperation.
Wang Shusheng then delivered his speech. He emphasized that the teachers and students of the school should have a solid belief in revitalizing XAUAT, everyone is responsible. High-level teachers are the foundation of the An De College. Teachers should take up the responsibility of teaching and educating people. Students are the most active builders of An De College.
Li Xinqing also delivered a speech. He said that the Australian Education Group will be fully committed to the development of An De College. At the same time, he hopes that students of Ander College can face the challenges of the present era, enhance their international vision and ability to communicate with the world, become a communicator of friendly culture between the two countries, and become an engineering talent with a global vision.
The teachers’ representative Huang Ying, undergraduate students’ representative Zhang Tonggui, and postgraduate students representative Jia Qiong, and undergraduate freshman representative Xin Jiayi also gave their speeches.
Niu Yitao, vice president of Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology, and Allan Evans, vice president of the University of South Australia, presented gifts to each other on behalf of the two universities.
The conference ended in the majestic university anthem.
